Selina's personality is mixed. At one moment she can be completely nurturing and the next sarcastic and dry. She is always known to be incredibly sardonic, while being professional. She loves the rush she gets from slipping into her catsuit. Like a cat she can love you one moment and want to scratch you the next....And no one ever really knows where she falls. She can be playful, but deadly. Friendly, but lethal. Sexy and seductive, but dangerous and daring. She always takes risks to get what she wants....no matter the cost, but she also knows when to get while the gettings good....She is an incredibly resourceful problem solver and can work her way out of practically any situation....like a cat.
Background/History: When Selina was young she was born to Brian and Maria Kyle. Selina was always abused as a young child, her father being a terrible alcoholic. She and her sister Maggie were always beaten for the stupidest of things. The only person Selina ever loved was her mother, who tragically killed herself to get away from her horrid husband. A few months later Selina and Maggie's father died at the hands of alcohol. He drank himself to death. With that, Selina left home at a tender age and walked the streets only to be caught within a week and sent to an orphanage. At the orphanage she was an unruly child who listened to no one and was constantly punished and whipped with the headmistresses belt. Selina was always stealthy and athletic so getting from place to place without getting caught was a breeze for her. She was so great in fact that she uncovered a scheme going on that included the headmistress and her two lackeys. When Selina found out she was eventually knocked out and thrown in the local river, left for dead. Fortunately for Selina she had the headmistress under her thumb, after returning from the dead. She made it so that Selina never even existed at the risk of her being fired for nearly murdering a young girl.
One thing Selina loves are the stars and she used to go to the top of the orphanage just to look at them, trying to grab each of them, but since stars aren't easily attainable....Selina went for the next best thing....diamonds. When Selina walked away from the orphanage she began living life on her own, living off of the diamond necklace she took from the headmistress. Her and her best friend, at the time, lived together and Selina stole to make ends meat. Her athletics weren't as good as they could be so she would often end up getting shot or severely hurt in her trying to escape. In the end, Selina and her friend, became prostitutes. Selina's friend took to it like a fish in water, but Selina was a little hesitant and eventually was given a whip and a black corset with matching black leather pants and took on the role of Dominatrix in her boss Stan's ring of prostitution. Pretty soon Selina and her friend parted ways, bitterly, because Selina didn't want any more attention, but that wasn't the big problem. One night there was a big building collapse near where Selina, and her little side-kick Holly, lived. When they went to see the accident there, from the building rose a sea of black bats. Selina was instantly intrigued, while on-lookers, including Holly ducked and hid. Suddenly the biggest bat of them all flew from the scene, with a bloody wound on his leg and Selina eventually found out that the name of the man was Batman.
Another night Selina was working and couldn't get up enough money so Stan nearly killed her, but left her for dead. She was saved by her sister Maggie, who had become a nun. After that night Selina looked up the name of Ted Grant who helped people with self defense in the form of kick boxing and boxing, in general. She was also taught how to use a whip from the once great trainer of heroes. Selina and Ted had a slight fling, but it eventually faded into a friendship.
Selina continued her work, with a new form of confidence, still thinking about the Batman, but was too busy figuring out new things to steal and how to get them. Her athletic skill had increased immensely, thanks to Ted Grant, and she took on the role of stealing a pendant. She got her information from a low-life whom she knocked out after she was done with him. She got to the pendant and was taken down by a ninja warrior who was ashamed to get to the pendant second to a woman. Selina was then recruited by the armless master, after following the sexist ninja. She surpassed everyone, including her sexist ninja friend named Kai. The two butted heads in the dojo until graduation day. Selina was top in her class and was highly liked by her sensei, The Armless Master, and then she needed to get on with her life.
She knew that Batman was based on Bats and, when she was younger she loved Cats, they were slick, sneaky, stealthy, and so on. She eventually bought two suits. They were both fire retardant and one had a jaunty tail on the end. One was gray, and the other was purple. Pretty soon her and Holly eventually moved away from one another. Selina being a professional thief and she didn't want anyone attached to her. She wanted to exact revenge on Stan and she stopped herself from killing him thanks to Batman, but Stan still died from a fatal fall.
Selina, over time, became the greatest thief in the world and she retains her title to this day. She now lives in the East End protecting and stealing, but with Batman recently gone from her life...there's no telling what the Feline Fatale will do next.
Role-play Sample The night air felt cool on what was showing on Catwomans face. She knew that Bruce would eventually find her...he always did. She then heard the faint flitting of his cape and she turned to see him standing there without any scratches or bruises either. It was that embodiment that struck fear into the hearts of some of Gothams more feared. A smirk crept to her lips as she moved to Batmans who asked so forcefully why she left him behind. She pulled her hand back and wanted to punch him, but her movements weren't going to be quick enough, not when she really didn't want to hurt him. Instead she just hit his chest lightly, "Figured you'd know how it would feel if the person you cared for the most just up and left." She said bitterly.
She held up a hand to Bats' mouth to make her statement much more pronounced, "We both know how we feel about each other...God knows half of Gotham does....and when I lost you...I felt that a piece of me died as well...that's how I ended up with Eddie, Ivy, and Harley...and Dick. You left and everything changed...and now that you're back everyone may have a much harder time adjusting back to the old habits....even Jokers gotten crazier..." She said simply.
"And then there's us..." She said looking into his dark smoldering eyes, nothing was there, just emptiness, "I told you before...I can't be you...you give me one good example that shows me trying to take over for Batman." She said then turning her back to him and walking to the edge of the building, but not to leave, only to sit on.
She sat down on the edge and looked at the Gotham skyline. She knew that no one else would know where the two were...or even to look in that direction...so she took off her mask and goggles and just looked at the view.
