Hello Ladies and Germs,
Since Ol' Batsie's gone missing, looks like it's up to me to lay down the law around this joint.
I'm only going to say this once, kiddies, so ya better listen up!
The ONLY rule you gotta remember is one that's plain and simple:
HAVE A GAS!

If you're gassy that's your problem, Joker but don't try to put it off on everyone else. Everyone please read the REAL rules.
This board was established as a creative, story-based environment for role-players to gather and have fun with their own plots and ideas. Within Gotham Legacy, there is no overarching storyline and time-line because we are leaving those decisions up to you: The Players! That being said, there are a few guidelines that we would like for you to follow. - No aggravated trolling/flaming/arguing on this site. It’s fine to hold disagreements, but please keep differences of opinions civilized.
- Gotham Legacy is rated PG-13. There can be violence and adult situations, but please, nothing gratuitous. There might be children watching.
- Role-play posts must be written in the third-person narrative format, and of a minimum length of roughly 300-500 words (although you can certainly go longer). While we do ask that you attempt toward correct spelling and proper grammar, we do not expect it to be perfect—we are all learning. If you would like help with overcoming common grammar errors, check out grammarErrors.com.
- No God-Moding. This means do not control another character’s actions without their role-player’s permission.
- No Over-Powered NPCs/Supporting Characters. It’s fine to create NPCs to support your own character, but exorcise restraint on their abilities and involvement with other player-characters. They should not exceed your registered character's powers, or be used against another's player's character as a sort of dues ex machima scenario.
- Keep Canon Characters Active. One biweekly post is required in order to keep canon characters. We will not hold inactive characters unless given a notice of absence. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of posting. If this is the case, all that we ask is that you give us a notice on our “AWAY” board. There will be random activity checks (but no more than once per month). If a character’s player is absent during a check, the character will be opened for grabs or the resubmission of an application. The password is for applying is: "Justice!"
- Writer's block happens, as well does people not replying right away. If you are waiting for someone else to respond, it won’t be held against the weekly post requirement. We are open to any concerns that you may have about this rule. We just asked that you keep us apprised of any situations that might prevent you from meeting post requirements. We will only delete your character if there is an extended amount of inactivity and a failure to provide notice. If upon an extended absence, you return to find your character deactivated, you can regain the role so long as it is not taken by another player. We will not delete your posts or applications in the event of a deactivation.
- Post layouts and signatures are also allowed so that they do not stretch the board’s layout. Current allowable witch is 450 pixels.
- Original Characters are allowed. However, they follow a stricter application process than Canon Characters. This is done to avoid the creation of ridiculously overly-powered characters, or Mary Sues. If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to ask the mods or admins.
- Since this board is new, there currently is no limit on the amount of Canon Characters or Original Characters that you can have. However, keep in mind that playing too many characters at once might make it difficult to keep up with posts.
- Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the admins.
