It seemed almost a decade since Kory had left her last footprints on earth. When earth had seen their last glimpse of the tamaranean princess. When Kory had left her heart had been torn, her life with nearly no direction and no real purpose. Kory was in the simple way, a mess. Everyone has their moments and even an alien like herself. When they crash and burn. It had been a struggle and Kory doubted there wouldn't be more. Life wasn't so easy, but Kory wished it to be at least joyful. For a long time she had toyed with Earth being her home and ventured back to where Tamaran had once sat. To her surprise it popped out. Much like magic. Sure she took a few moments to actually realise just what it meant. Almost like it was ironic the moment she seeked it, it had appeared. Although it soon turned out to be a need for the community of Rann and soon her people found an ally with them. Making themselves a home. It was a nice thing to get her mind of what had toyed with her. She got to help rebuild her home in a way and she had missed Tamaran greatly. More than she had every realised.
She even found company in friends and even in ways her sister. It was a much needed closure. Komand'r may not care for Kory greatly still, but the sisters left with just at least a little bit of respect for each other. Kory forgave her for the past even though Kory had thought she had already moved past it, but to actually say the words certainly helped. Her sister didn't exactly say sorry, but what she did say was enough. It was like a much heavy weight Kory had not realised was there, was now gone. She felt lighter and she was finding a sense of peace with in this new home. Helped them rebuild, but as the time went by. She was beginning to feel home sick for Earth. Not so much just her friends or the life she had left, but the entire world. She had missed the smaller details. The smell of the air and the feel of grass. The lights of the cities. The people that called to be saved. It soon had dawned on her that she had needed closure and needed to find herself. To realise Earth was her home now and Tamaran was always with her where ever she went. She didn't need to see it, it feel. She was Tamaran and always will. She was never going to be human, but Kory just didn't fit into the new Tamaran anymore and never would. Earth had saved her once before and it would continue to do it.
During her time in space Kory had visited more than just Tamaran. Realising the call in the universe was vast. She found a new sense of the need to help and she knew Earth needed this. Needed a saviour, but so did the universe. She was the voice for those that were ever called strange and that is everybody. Everybody is unique and everybody had a reason to live. With this new sense of direction and joy. Kory finally after a very long hiatus came down to earth. Her home. Her eyes wept at the parting of her people once again, but it was in good hands and Kory had a duty to others. She knew this now. The events that had been her past had led her to Earth, there was a reason for that and she knew it was doing no good, by just running away. She did wish to see her friends and even Dick Grayson. She was never going to forget him she knew that, she had just needed something other than him to control her thoughts. She would forever love him. She knew it. There was no hiding her emotions. She just wasn't going to let it destroy her. She was worth more than that. She was meant for earth because she was who she was, Koriand'r. Not because of one man.
The trail shot through the layers and soon took lead to Gotham. Was she seen, probably. Kory hadn't tried to hide it. Nor was she going to. She was Koriand'r the princess of Tamaran and protector of the universe. The air on her skin sang to her heart. There was that real sense she had made the right decision. Her mood was joyous once again. Her life had meaning and Kory knew she would be forever learning what that was. That was the point and she would enjoy seeing how it unfolded. Life was too short and Time couldn't be changed. But she wasn't about to avoid. Nor hide. She knew she needed to see where her heart had fled to. She was in the right frame of mind for any such meeting. It wouldn't destroy her not this time. They would forever remain friends and despite their paths in life, she knew they will continue to cross. She had missed him. But not so much just out of the great love she had. but mainly because she missed her friend in him and she was silly to make their relationship so murky. She needed to be here in reach if he needed and maybe he would be in reach if she ever needed. As she flew around the buildings of black. The feeling of the Batman was right around the corner. She wasn't sure how long it might take to find him nor did she know what suit he'd be in now. She smiled.
She found herself in Old Gotham. It had just driven her here and she had forgotten the beauty in Gotham. It was dark and looming, but there was a charm here. Even at night the city lights never seemed bright enough. It was a interesting place, slightly strange, but Kory liked this. It wasn't too long before she heard the calling of help. The calling of a superhero. Was Batman going to be in time? Or was he on the other side of town? It didn't really toy to much on her mind. For Kory had appeared before two men attacking a young woman in the alley. This was maybe a smaller crime she had dealt with, but every life had the same worth. Kory appeared in the dark of the alley. With only the glow of her hands and the glow of her eyes. Green Stabolts at the ready. The rest of her was darkened. She slowly floated out of the shadow before them. Shooting a starbolt between the men and the girl. Breaking the distance between them. It had halted their attention. Confused. Though as the girl began to run. The men grabbed her again. One placing the girl in found like a shield and the knife at her throat. Kory smiled, as if this made i harder. Were they getting dumber these days? Kory shook her head in disbelieve.
She flew throughout the shadows. Coming from different directions. Revving the fear of the two men. Had they really expected Batman was here or someone close to that. Kory couldn't know. She hadn't taken much thought. At one point she grabbed one of them and threw him in the large garbage bin by the darkened alley wall. Still in the dark and now toying around the man that had the girl pinned. He called her coward and to show herself. It was maybe not the thing to say.
For the tamaranean beauty finally came out of the shadows. Her hands and eyes glowing again. Her anger written on her face although there was a slight smirk upon her lips. For he truly probably shouldn't of asked such a thing. As she came slowly out of the dark. She stood her 6 feet 4 inches tall floating before the floor. Her skin golden. Her hair red as flames and danced around her slightly. The night air flying it slightly trying to blow on it, but it just lit it up some more. She bore her outfit of purple still in the tamaranean style. Her arms in motion of fist up bend near her shoulders. She couldn't tell if the man was scared or just amused. She hadn't left him much room. She took aim and shot a starbolt at his head. Causing him to go flying until he hit the wall behind and knocking him out cold. Kory came to float just by the young girl who had collapsed to her knees after being pushed as the man was thrown. Kory eyed the man with the remaining of her glow. Noting him being pretty much out. The glowing ceased and she moved to help the girl to her feet. She was a young girl maybe 18 with blonde hair and the features of a girl almost a woman. Kory's hardened expressions stopped to be that of softness and kindness. The girl placed her hand in Kory's and got to her feet. "Thank-you. Sorry, who are you?" The girl questioned as she wanted to show her gratitude.
"Well, I'm Starfire of Tamaran. Earth's universal saviour. The honour is all mine, you are safe to live your life now, go live it"
Kory spoke proud and full of the positive joyous attitude Tamaran had taught her. She extended her hand towards the light to the rest of the city for this young girl had many more years of her life yet to live. Kory was pleased to have helped to save it. The girl thanked her again and offered each other another smile. The girl soon faded into the lights. Kory grabbed the two men back together and found a long enough cord to wrap around them in place. So escape was harder. Now, who to call? Maybe a drop off.
